We hope everyone is doing well, staying healthy, and riding more.  There are even more reasons to be on the trails these days, what with upgrades to 7 Day, Locomotion, Dirt Farm and Pumpkinator.  The Covid pandemic has really increased community trail usage, hikers especially like the Walrus and river trails. A big THANK-YOU to everyone making Hammerfest the awesome place that it is.!!

Phase 3 (Big Dipper Loop) construction of the new multi-use trail in the Englishman River Falls Park has been proceeding unabated.  The contractor is getting close to finishing.  He will also be making a new access trail from the NW corner of the main parking lot up to the service road.  This will provide great parking and use opportunities for their new trail system, and provide one other main access option into HammerFest.  Once completed, all the new trails will fall under the Club’s responsibility to maintain.

Once the Bigger Dipper Loop is complete, BC Parks will want to close off and rehabilitate more sections of the old trail that was used for Park access.  This will be similar to what was done on the old trail that went up to the water tower.  More info about this will be coming shortly as there will be a call for volunteers.
