Spring is in the air and that means the yearly mountain bike race season is soon to commence at HammerFest.  On tap:

XC Race:  Sunday, April 5th:  Racing starts at 11am with setup and registration at 9am.  Also, a shorter youth race for all those shredders and rippers out there and they race for free.  Parents encouraged to ride with them.

BC High School Mountain Bike Championships:  Friday, May 22nd:  ACC is a partner with SD #69 Qualicum for this province wide race.  It will be fast and furious as there is an xc race in the morning and and enduro component in the afternoon.  Expect a good turnout with an early start for registration (7am) with racing starting at 8:45.

Enduro Race:  Sunday, May 31st:  This style of race is very popular so another large contingent of riders is expected.  Once again, a 7am setup should get the job done.  (volunteers for this event, please email Tam: tamjcrawford@gmail.com)

Always a bit hectic with these things but the more the merrier.  Things to do include course marking, registration, parking attendants, course marshals, timing etc.  Whether you can volunteer for a long time or a short time, a spot can be found for you.  Hope you can make it but never fear, you’ll hear from me again!
